Description
The camphor or camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl J., 1825), is a species of the laurel family shafts (Lauraceae) from which are extracted camphor by distillation of the wood, said "Wood ho ".
This is a medium sized tree, 15-25 m tall, with leaves alternate, entire, leathery and persistent, may present domatia.
Generally oval, they are long 10 cm and a strong smell of camphor when crushed.
Fruits are fleshy drupes spherical carried by a thick green stalk. They are dark blue to black when ripe.
